Welcome. This is for those who are new to the concept of "mudding". Mainly in the area of Role Play, or what we like to call RP. RP is not required by all but if you choose to RP it is strictly enforced.
Role Play simply put is you acting out your character the way each class and race would. For example, a viking is a ruthless, barbarian with only a few things in goal, Pillage, Rape and Conquer. So you would not RP your viking, (if that is what you have) as a fun loving flower picker.
There are 2 paths you can take with your character, Peaceful or Deadly. Peacefuls are exactly that, peaceful with other players. Deadlies, however, seek to kill other players.
If you are an Deadly Evil Headhunter, then you would be out for everyone's blood. But a Deadly Good Paladin would seek to protect the innocent.
Everyone's style is different and RP can be interpreted differently. The RP Admin is here to assist and enforce all aspects of RP.
To RP simply put on your RP flag. You can do this by typing config +rp. To remove the RP flag simply type config -rp. To see who is and who is not RPing at the moment you can always type who. Directly to the left of each players name should have a (RP). Those that do not are not RPing at that moment. Below is an example of what to look for...

If you notice, Rishabu is the only peaceful not RPing.
If you do have your RP flag on, then you must at all times Role Play. This means in character and over chat. Type Help Chat to see the rules of chat. If you wish to not Role Play your character then you can use the OOC channel. Type Help OOC to see the rules of OOC.
If you have your RP flag on, then you must RP in every room you go too. You should not discuss last nights basketball game or why the stock market is low.
Remember at anytime you can turn off your RP flag and not worry about it.
