-= Introduction to LoE =-

There was once a great king named Uther Pendragon. Merlin the Magician was one of Uther's most trusted confidants. Not long after the birth of Uther's son Arthur, Merlin came to Uther and said that he had seen a vision. In this vision he learned that Uther would die and the kingdom would be thrust into anarchy. When this happened, it would place Arthur, the only heir to the throne, in grave danger, for those who would wish to be king would try to kill him.

When Merlin told the king this, he decided to send the boy away to a place where he would be safe. So Merlin took Arthur to Sir Kay, one of Uther's knights, who raised Arthur as his own son.

Uther did die, and the kingdom was in anarchy for many years until one day a young boy pulled the sword Excalibur from its stone, a feat that no one else could perform. This boy, Arthur, was then told of his birthright and crowned king.

Arthur, with his wife Guinevere, held court at Camelot on the Usk River. He ruled his kingdom for many years and had many adventures with his Knights of the Roundtable.

The kingdom was a peaceful place until his nephew Modred led a rebellion against him. Arthur killed Modred but was mortally wounded in the battle. After the battle his body was carried to the city of Avalon to be healed. It is said that he is expected to return someday to resume his rule.

Centuries had passed and Arthur was no where to be found. One rumor foretells of a wicked wizard whom hated the King, and after the death of Arthur, stole his body and forever banished him to an alternate universe. Others tell the tale that King Arthur did heal and slipped away at night to live alone in the foothills of the goblins, never to reign again.

One day, a young female explorer was climbing the mountains of the fire newts, stumbled upon a strange shimmering in the distance. Halareil Oakheart approached the object and began examining it. Being of Elvin descent of the Isle of Dhanloria, she was familiar with the legend of the stone. Over joyed with new discovery, Halareil at once set off for Camelot to alert the Knights of what she had discovered.

Sir Larardo, the knight leader, dispatched the knights to retrieve the stone and bring it to Camelot.

Word spread fast as it was announced that all whom wished to try their hand at removing the sword could do so and thus would be named King of Camelot. Over a two month period of time had passed and thousands streamed into the then run down city, wanting to see if fate had different plans for them. All failed. No one was found to possess the blood line of the Pendragon family. The lady of the lake would only allow this line to take seat upon the throne.

After all hope seemed to be lost to the winds, the Head Knight, Sir Larardo, put his hands on the keel and slowly pulled the sword from its embedded resting place. The inner core of the stone began to violently shake, light broke from within, and the Excalibur was removed. A new dawn had broken upon the horizon of Britannica.

Instant uproar and dissention had begun. Factions of evil doers greatly opposed Camelot having a king. They wanted anarchy and chaos to continue it crushing grip upon the citizens of the continent. On the day of the coronation, Ravok, the self proclaimed leader of the opposition, stood up denouncing the newly crowned king. He and his hoard left the Camelot Cathedral and set out to establish their own government.

All the while, the Isle of Dhanloria, enjoying centuries of peace and prosperity, was suddenly thrust into the middle of this escalating tension. The Elvin counsel quickly convened. The last time a Elvin Counsel convened was 600 years ago to determine that Dhanloria was no longer needed in the worlds affairs. Time had taken the former counsel, and new faces without experience, they called upon the old human knight paladin, Syrius, to guide them through this rocky path. Syrius had lived amongst the elves for over millennia. He had seen the old ways, and was confident that his experience would serve Dhanloria well.

Those who did not follow any government were exiled to the underdark. Here they could live their lives as they deemed. Although, being seen in public would prove humiliating, since no one would accept them.

So, as you can see, Camelot and the surrounding Continents have changed much since the unknown departure of Arthur Pendragon.

You can either choose to follow Larardo Pendragon, King of Britannica and start your life as a peasant and hopefully one day live a life of good and defend those who can not defend themselves.

You can choose to follow Emperor Ravok and be a slave of the Farlands Empire and achieve anarchy and chaos and spread evil where ever you can.

You can choose to live a life of peace as a Sajorte upon the Isle of Dhanloria. Follow Coronal Syrius to neutrality.

Or you can choose to live a life of Exile amongst the shadows of the Underdark, where there is no leader and the only hope of a better life is to find a continent to call home, by being accepted back into the throngs of society.

It is true what the old sage says......

"Time changes, King Arthur's realm
is no longer what it was..."
